Nicolás Sobrero was born in the city of Buenos Aires, where he has lived until today. Trained as a journalist, he writes on art for different publications while maintaining his own career as an artist, having shown his works in Argentina, the United States and Austria. His work bears points in common with the calligraphic research by Nick Blinko and León Ferrari, with the design of circus posters, with bugged video images, with Uruguayan constructivism, and even with David Hockney’s photomontages. His production evinces an accumulation of influences and graphic forms, configuring a body of works that is chaotic yet with a recognizable, individual authorship.
